When Jango Fett was recruited to serve as the genetic blueprint for the Republic's clone army, he requested just one thing: one unmodified clone to raise as a son. Boba Fett was that son, and he learnt the skill of battle from Jango. As a child, Boba was an expert with a blaster and a lethal fighter; when Obi-Wan Kenobi pursued and battled Jango on Kamino, Boba came dangerously close to killing the Jedi with the heavy armaments aboard his father's spaceship, the Slave I. While Jango survived the confrontation, his performance against Jedi Master Mace Windu on Geonosis was less successful. Boba's father was killed by the master swordsman, a deed that instilled in the boy a lifelong loathing of Jedi.
