Dan Aykroyd Empire's March 2017 issue, which goes on sale Thursday, has a 24-page tribute to film legend Carrie Fisher. As part of this commemorative event, we invited many of Fisher's close friends to share their memories of her in their own words. Dan Aykroyd wrote the following tribute.
Though certainly a somber letter, much of what Aykroyd remembers displays Carrie's amusing character. âContemplating marriage, I gave Carrie a sapphire ring, and later in the relationship, she gave me a Donald Roller Wilson oil painting of a monkey wearing a blue gown next to a little floating pencil, which I kept for years until it started to scare my children,â he says. Aykroyd also recalls fond memories of his time with Fisher's family, including days spent eating home-cooked meals served by Fisher's mother, Debbie Reynolds, and the thrilling experiences he had with Fisher's âtech-wizardâ brother, Todd.
Bluesmobile [adjust] The video depicted the decommissioned 1974 Mount Prospect, Illinois Dodge Monaco police vehicle using 13 other automobiles purchased at auction from the California Highway Patrol. The studio adapted the cars to do certain driving tasks; some were modified for speed, while others were modified for leaps, depending on the situation. The producers bought 60 police vehicles at a cost of $400 apiece for the massive automobile chases, and the majority were destroyed after the filming. [23] Over 40 stunt drivers were employed, and the team maintained a 24-hour body shop. [23]
While their love was "soaring on laughter-filled excitement and a vivid, totally fulfilling sexual closeness," the pair traveled to casino billionaire William Harrah's famed Lake Tahoe mansion.
Aykroyd said that after his acquisition of some high-grade hallucinogenic drugs, "We went to Reno, leased a wagon, and checked in for three days of uncontrollable sobbing to Christmas carols. Certainly one of the best events on the world when LSD was involved."
