Do It Yourself Dr Seuss Costumes

I purchased the Thing 1 and Thing 2 onesies for the twins when I was six months pregnant (they were $10 each at a secondhand shop). I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with them at the moment, but I knew I wanted them to wear them and pose in them. When Halloween came around, I knew I wanted to do something unique and homemade for their first Halloween, rather than racing out and purchasing a store-bought costume. Continue reading»

Aren't Thing 1 and Thing 2 classic Dr. Seuss âtwinsâ, âsiblingsâ, or âbest friendsâ costume ideas? I like the way these two outfits have been combined. Creating the distinctive blue hair with felt and visors is a fantastic idea! Definitely more comfy than a child's wig! Visit Coolest Homemade Costumes for more information.

Simple Costumes

Striped leggings or bright colored stockings may be worn on the legs and arms. Colorful gloves, ties, and bow ties all contribute to the impression, as do wigs in a variety of forms and colors or dyeable wigs. Adult and children's footed sleepers are available, and are especially useful for figures such as the Grinch, Thing One and Thing Two, and the Cat in the Hat. Simply embellish and adorn plain footed sleepers to quickly make Dr. Seuss character outfits.

Tomorrow is Dr Seuss Day, and all I have are two of DH's old white shirts. I don't have any heat transfer paper or decals. I own markers. I was considering creating Thing 1 and Thing 2 for my DS and DD, ages 8 and 6, respectively. They, too, are going to have wild hair. Do you believe it will enough if I just draw things 1 and 2 on the shirts? I'm unable to locate anything online. I'm close to a Walmart and a Target. Do you believe they would have costumed personnel? TIA!
