The Spaniards were uneducated and obviously had a "our nation" attitude toward us; the pool was packed with spanish children aged 10 to 15, who took great joy in harassing all the non-Spanish children; they would even splash and hurl objects at the middle-aged and elderly. This occurred in plain front of the spanish parents, who encouraged their brats to be bullies in certain situations. One extremely obese teenager took great pleasure in throwing solid plastic lifebelts at my ten-year-old son and his five-year-old brother whenever they went in the pool. I attempted to resolve the situation with the reps and hotel staff but they were unconcerned...in the end, I had to threaten to beat lumps out of this boy's father (who was at the time giving cigarettes to a group of kids at the bar) in order for the problem to cease. This was not an isolated incident involving this flabby Spanish family; the neighborhood was teeming with sloppy parents and youngsters from Spain. These apartments seem to appeal mostly to the Spanish, and I'm not sure why Thomsons utilize them.
