On Sons of Anarchy, we've previously verified that Rockmond Dunbar will take over as the new sheriff, and now TV Line says that LaMonica Garrett will report to him. The actor will play Deputy Sheriff Cane, who will have many significant run-ins with SAMCRO.
Childhood and athletic career [adjust] LaMonica Garrett was born in the California city of San Francisco. He was named after Daryle Lamonica, a prominent Oakland Raiders quarterback who was a favorite of his parents. Garrett was a football player in high school. He and a buddy were transferred to Burbank High School after his family relocated to Los Angeles. Garrett said that, despite the fact that his teammate made the varsity squad, he was kept on the junior varsity team owing to his ego and attitude. He alludes to this setback as a "wake-up call" in an interview with Muscle and Fitness magazine, describing it as a "wake-up call that taught him both humility and accountabilityâand propelled him into the gym."
