In 2016, Lucid Motors demonstrated their electric powertrain for the Air in a delivery van utilizing batteries from its defunct company, Atieva. The electric delivery van, dubbed "Edna," was equipped with two gears and motors capable of generating over 900 horsepower (671 kW) and a battery pack capable of holding 87 kWh of energy. Edna achieved a 0-60 mph (97 km/h) speed of 2.74 seconds and a quarter mile pace of 11.3 seconds when equipped with all-wheel drive and other physical and software modifications. [14] Edna was used to evaluate the performance and functionality of Lucid Motors' powertrain in real-world conditions, including "motor control algorithms, regenerative braking behaviors, accelerator pedal feel, and cooling techniques."
