Old Dominion I Was On A Boat That Day Album Cover

Old Dominion have debuted new songs for the first time in 2019. The breezy new track âI Was on a Boat That Day,â released Friday, is the first single from the ACM-winning group's next CD. With its suitably cheery pace and hum-along choruses backed by accordion, âI Was on a Boat That Dayâ almost conceals the fact that it is a breakup song. At the top, vocalist Matthew Ramsey sings, âI remember it like yesterday, âcause it was. He pushes off the pier and floats away as she packs her belongings to depart.

Old Dominion entered the US Billboard 200 at number nine with 31,000 album-equivalent units, including 19,000 pure album sales. It is Old Dominion's second chart-topping album in the United States. [6] The second week saw an additional 5,000 record sales. [7] In the United States, it has sold 59,400 copies,[8] with a total of 379,000 units consumed as of March 2020. [9] [edit] Track listing

Music is much more than simply the music. While the sounds are undoubtedly the most important component, the function of cover art in creating a wonderful record cannot be overlooked. Cover art has evolved throughout the years, from fold-out gatefolds on vinyl to pull-out liner notes in CD jewel cases to the little symbol on a digital player, but it continues to influence how we see a specific album. Photographic portraits, paintings, and collages are included in Billboard's list of the 50 best album covers of all time, which dates all the way back to Elvis Presley's self-titled debut and continues to the current day. When Old Dominion reunited a few years ago to record âMake It Sweet,â a serene track that would appear on their 2019 self-titled LP, it marked a significant shift in their process: whereas they had previously written each song prior to entering the studio, this time they wrote the entire track on the spot, quickly laying it to tape. Everything in a single day. âThat was our first taste of what that process might be like,â says Matthew Ramsey, lead singer of the chart-topping country band, which has amassed eight No. 1 singles at country radio, surpassed one billion on-demand streams, earned several Platinum and Gold single certifications, and headlined arenas and amphitheaters worldwide. âWe've always thought, 'Man, it'd be awesome to produce a complete album like that.'
