I truly like this film, which I own on DVD and have given as gifts to friends:) it was my first genuine exposure to the 'Phantom of the Opera' narrative, which I first watched on December 25, 2004. I still adore the 'Phantom of the Opera' story and have found several additional adaptations...
I believe that the acting in the film was excellent, that the singing was excellent (although Michael Crawford's rendition of 'Music of the Night' is my favorite, Gerard Butler did an excellent job as well: his acting and singing were both excellent, particularly on 'Point of No Return'...oh, and tomorrow is his birthday, so happy birthday to him)...that the scenery and special effects are also excellent, in my opinion. Many thanks to ALW and JS for making this lovely film:) Additionally, this film made me want to visit the stage performance, which I plan to do eventually.

Although the 2004 focus is rather good, the phantom humanoid is shown in this, one becomes entangled with him, and he is nciht cast in the role of the bsen. The Phantom of the Opera is and will continue to be a classic, both on the big screen and on television.
