As far as I'm concerned, when that deck is built, it will be THE genuine RWS, a museum-quality reproduction manufactured to our specifications without altering the colors, backs, or autographs in any way. Practically the only item we'd alter is the paper, which you may use any kind of. To be sure, throughout that time period, we'll also see a slew of RWS items pushed upon us, most notably coffee cups and toilet paper (Don't like a card? With it, wipe). We'll face a variety of marketing techniques.
At the turn of the twentieth century, the deck revolutionized the world of Tarot by depicting the minor arcana as full-fledged cards with storylines and imagery.
Waite undoubtedly had a significant part in the creation of the deck and in the development of the pictures. However, the artist Pamela Colman-work Smith's is also highly significant, since she drew all the cards in the deck. We owe her these enduring pictures that have become Tarot classics. The centenary edition pays honor to the artist by including her name alongside Arthur Waite in the title. Additionally, the deck has two extra cards featuring Pamela's artwork.

The Smith-Waite Centennial Tarot Deck is an exact replica of the original deck developed in 1909 by Pamela Colman Smith under the guidance of Arthur E. Waite. This traditional tarot deck has full-color illustrations in shades selected by âPixieâ herself. The deck was initially released in 2009 as part of the Pamela Colman Smith Commemorative Set by US Games Systems. This stand-alone version is ideal for collectors who want to maintain the immaculate condition of their PCS sets while still doing readings with this unique deck. The 84-card deck has the traditional 78 tarot cards as well as four examples of Pixie's non-tarot artwork: Much Ado About Nothing, The Gates of Dreamland, A Christmas Carol, and Once in a Dream.
